When I have an overwhelming urge to shop but no real need to actually buy anything I fill said urge by convincing myself that there are gaps of products or colours missing from my beauty stash and this week I convinced myself the colour missing from my make-up bag was orange.
I've read a lot recently about orange being a massive trend this spring/summer (when it arrives that is!) and I'm totally digging matching lips and tips at the moment so decided to feed my urge to shop with an orange lipstick and nail varnish in the shape of L'oreal Color Riche 303 Lush Tangerine a subtle glossy orange with a slight yellow undertone and choose Bourjois Rogue Edition 10 Rouge Buzz a real deep blood orange that really packs a punch on lips teamed with barely there make up and lashings of mascara.
Once home and excited to slot my new purchases into my overflowing stash I realised that I have a fairly orange shaped heart in my collection already that I had forgotten about. Kicking things off was Models Own x Hed Kandi Beach Party. A true neon orange that adorned my nails for most of last summer as it looks awesome with a tan. Then came Rimmel Lycra Pro 440 Orange Bliss, for days when I want a pop of colour but nothing to in your face, leaning more on the coral side of orange this is a great purchase for easing yourself into the orange trend and with its claim of lasting up to ten days, definitely one for lazy girls who don't like to switch up their nails every three nails (guilty). Barry M is always the brand I go to when I want trend led nails on the cheap, the quality isn't the best but also not the worse. This nail varnish in 301 Block Orange is a true bright orange that will definitely turn heads paired with a monochrome outfit and Topshop's Infrared on the lips to finish the look. Just make sure to prep lips first as Topshop's offering is a matte finish and slightly drying on the lips and cracked orange lips is not the look we are going for. On cheeks I've been wearing FashionistA blush in Juicy Apricot to give a subtle pinky-orange glow to cheeks that gives passers by the impression you've just had a relaxing week off work.
Well that proves I've definitely filled any orange shape void I thought I might of had in my make-up bag, and I'm already thinking of what colour I need next...
